In loving memory ofJulia L Brown
BROWN- Julia L.: Age 90, of St. Lambert died peacefully on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 in Montreal, Canada after a courageous battle with cancer. Julia was born in Brown's Town, Jamaica, and attended Sir George William University in 1959. She taught at the Brown's Town Infant School, Charlton Primary School, Stewart Town, Duncan's , Porter's Mountain, Ginger Ridge and Eccleston Schools. She was also a teacher in the Montreal in St. Lambert, Longueuil and Greenfield Park for over 30 years and lived and taught in schools mainly on the South Shore of Montreal for all of the 53 years that she lived in Canada.
She is survived by a son Victor Harris and his family in Hartford, Connecticut, sister Daisy Robinson and her family (Jamaica and New Jersey), brother Carlton (Beebs) and his family in Boston, Mass, Cousin, Ivy Mae Thomas and family in Waltham, Manchester and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, friends in Canada and Jamaica.
The funeral service was held on Friday, May 11, 2012 in Canada immediately at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home at 307 Promenade Riverside, St Lambert, Quebec. A memorial service will be held at the Brown's Town Methodist Church at a later date to be announced before the internment of her ashes at the Brown's Town Cemetery.
