WHITE-FLASH - Joan, 59, of Bloomfield, CT beloved wife for 12 years of the late Randel Flash, passed away peacefully on Thursday, (March 28, 2013) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. Born in Oxford, St. Mary, on February 5, 1954, daughter of the late Jacob White and Daisy Wright, she had lived in Oxford, St. Mary, before moving to Bloomfield, CT 16 years ago. Joan had many talents including wedding planning, cooking, sewing and the ability to meticulous clean anything. She was a strict mother but was always loving. A mother to her entire family, she always wanted to make sure that everyone was doing well and was routinely looked to for her advice and counsel, even by her older relatives. While living in Jamaica, she was an active member of the Oxford Baptist Church and had sang in the choir as a young woman. After moving to Bloomfield, CT, she joined the Family Worship Center in Hartford, CT. She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Carlye Ramsay-Taylor and his fiancée Adrienne Dash of Bloomfield, CT; four brothers, Horace White and his wife Marvalet, Liston White and his wife Arlene, Hughvel White and his wife Ciester, and Garfield White and his wife Shaunette Laing all of Bloomfield, CT; five sisters, Shirlet McKoy-Brown and her husband Walford of Manchester, CT, Jennifer Stephenson, Yvonne White, Charmlyn White and Lemonia White all of Bloomfield, CT; three grandchildren whom she cherished, Carlye Jr., Coryana, and Arianna; seven nieces; 16 nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends in Jamaica and the United States. Funeral services were held in Connecticut. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Association, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
