In loving memory ofSonia Parks Joseph

Parks-Joseph-Sonia Annette, 59, of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Monday, May 23, 2016, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies to Hortense Martin Parks and the late Ivanhoe Parks, Sonia has been a resident of Bridgeport for the past twenty-seven years. She was employed as a CNA with the Jewish Senior Services of Fairfield with twenty-seven years of service. Her spiritual needs were met as a disciple of Refuge Temple Church of God where she served in the Women's Ministry. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Hortense Parks of Hartford, CT; a brother, Seymour "Basil" Parks of Bloomfield, CT; three sisters, Audrey Parks and Yvonne Parks-Samuda of Hartford, and Winsome Cross of Bridgeport; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 10:00 AM at Refuge Temple Church of God with Bishop Courtney Williams, officiating. Please be attired in bright festive colors to celebrate her life; no black attire suggested. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the church.
