In loving memory ofClaudette Fender
FENDER - Claudette Patricia : 58, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Born in Portland, Jamaica, on July 3, 1957, daughter of Doris (Christie) Johnson of Bloomfield, CT and the late Byron Fender, she was raised in Jamaica and came to the United States with her family at the age of 17. Claudette lived in Hartford, CT before moving to East Hartford, CT and then to Bloomfield, CT over 25 years ago. She was a graduate of Capital Community College in Hartford, CT and had worked in the insurance industry and at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT. In her spare time, Claudette loved to travel and always looked forward to her next cruise, vacation to the Caribbean, or trip with her family and friends. She loved to cook and was well-known for her traditional West Indian dishes that she prepared for parties and family gatherings. Besides her mother Doris Johnson, she leaves two sisters, Yvonne J. Bennett of East Windsor and Carol G. Bennett of Washington, D.C.; two brothers in Jamaica; an uncle, Norman Percival Christie and his wife Cynthia of Jamaica; an aunt, Delphinia A. Christie of Jamaica; a nephew, Darryl Biggs, Jr. of Bloomfield, CT; a niece, Tatiyana Biggs of East Windsor, CT; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends in Jamaica and the United States too numerous to mention. Funeral services were held in Connecticut.
