Norma O'Neil



O'NEIL- Norma "Molly" Yvonne
(Wilkins) 81 , of Windsor, CT passed 
away on Saturday, December 6, 
2014. Born on April 22, 1933 in 
Linstead, St. Catherine, Jamaica, 
W.I., daughter of the late Hiam and 
Ivy (Duncan) Wilkins, she was raised 
in Jamaica and had lived in Hartford, 
CT before moving to Windsor, CT in 
1990. Molly was known for being a 
very easy going and mischievous 
young girl while growing up in 
Jamaica. After moving to the United 
States, Molly took a position at the 
Institute of Living as a dietary aide, 
where she worked for over 25 years 
until her retirement in 1994. She was 
an active member of St. Monica's 
Church in Hartford for over 40 years. 
She participated in many church 
functions and was also a member of 
the Episcopal Church Women (ECW). 
As the matriarch of her family she 
was stern but understanding and 
loved to be around her children, 
grandchildren, and great 
grandchildren. She leaves to mourn 
her passing, a son, Richardo O'Neil 
of Hartford, CT; two daughters, 
Carlette Barrow of Hartford, CT and 
Glennis O'Neil of Windsor, CT; three 
brothers, Robert Wilkins and his wife 
Marguerite of Windsor, CT, Errol 
Wilkins and his wife Pauline of 
Windsor, CT, and Maurice Wilkins of 
Jamaica; two sisters, Marcia 
Wilkins-Mosses and her husband 
Larry of Brockton, MA and Jennifer 
Wilkins of Jamaica; ten 
grandchildren; 15 great 
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends. 
She was predeceased by two 
brothers, Donald and Delwyn Wilkins; 
and a sister Barbara Wilkins. A 
funeral liturgy was held at St. 
Monica's Episcopal Church, Hartford. 
Interment services were held at Mt. 
St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
